The activities of Injury Free Days Campaign took place in the Healthy Cities in the course of first half of June. Every year, the campaign concentrates on injury prevention of the most threatened groups, i.e. that of children and seniors. The programme primarily comprised of lectures at kindergartens and basic schools and awareness-raising events focused on seniors' safety.
Injuries are predictable to a considerable degree, therefore, prevention can serve to reduce their number and consequences. Cities could also utilise tried and tested methodologies, such as the "Safe Route to School" programme or "Biking Only With Helmet On" campaign. In addition to traffic injuries, the campaign activities also focused on injuries at home, at school, in the nature and at the sports grounds. The Injury Free Days campaign is also supported by the National Institute of Public Health and its regional workplaces.
